Kelly Spencer

Kelly Spencer began dancing at a young age. She began a more focused study of ballet at age 8 after being selected to train at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Preparatory Program in Winston Salem, NC. As a young dancer, she participated in numerous summer intensives, including the ABT Young Dancer in NYC, Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, ABT-NY, FABNY, and the Orlando Ballet. In addition, Kelly trained in a range of other styles and competed at Dancers Edge until she was a teenager.

At age 14, Kelly moved to NYC to train full time at Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. During her time there, she performed along with the studio company in Walpurgis Night and The Nutcracker. Over the years, Kelly has worked with numerous professional ballet dancers, including Lyubov Fominich, Nikolai Levitsky, Vera Solovyeva, Luidmila Polonskaya, Valery Lanteatov, Franco De Vita, Sarah Lamb, and Gelsey Kirkland. In addition, she traveled to Saint Petersburg, Russia to study and perform under the guidance of Oleg Vinogradov. As a former DE competition team member herself, Kelly loves being able to teach at her “home” studio where her love of dance was born, and she can’t wait to continue working with the EPA students.
